Just a random guess, but I could see the argument that it would reduce crash bleed into the rest of the kit. It might make it easier to mix the main kit more tightly. But if that’s the case, then why leave the hihat low? It might just be a stylistic thing or it might be for the drummer to remember to not ride the crash. I dunno. It’s certainly not standard. They’re the only ones I’ve seen do it on such a small kit.

I am riddled with ADHD

When I say I get distracted, I don’t mean that I do something for 2-3 minutes and then come back. I completely forget I was cooking for sometimes long periods of time. Even if I’m still in the kitchen.

Really feels like all of these can be true at the same time. She says in the article she doesn’t promote cheating, that it was wrong, and that it didn’t fix the problems she was facing in her marriage. Divorces suck. There’s a reason they’re a flash point for manosphere grifters to latch onto. The family unit is a means of wealth redistribution. We have a system where doing the right thing and ending a shitty relationship means you now have to pay double your bills with the same income and you’re also losing tax credits and sometimes benefits.

I know the standard advice is to wash dishes as you cook, but I never know when the cooking is passive enough to warrant doing dishes. If I stop staring at the thing I’m doing I get distracted and it burns.

Writing plain old JavaScript without a library or framework is nice while you’re learning. Too many people will learn a single framework and not have any idea what the underlying APIs are, so the transferable skills are minimal.
