I’m 11 days sober (alcohol) for the first time in 2 years. The first few nights were hard, but each passing day gets easier after I’ve broken out of the cycle that I’ve been stuck in.

Chun-Li and Cammy, while I’m getting re-acclimated to the controls. I like super agile baddies and lots of kicks, so I’ve been having a lot of fun with Cammy and her Hooligan combo.
Thanks! The hardest part for me is not stopping to pick up a couple tallboys on my way home from work, but I managed to do it last night with little issue! If I can do it one night, I can do it again.
Nice, I’ll try one of those! Are they carbonated? Fizzy, bubbly drinks have been decent substitutes for hard seltzers in my experience.
I’ve been struggling with moderate alcoholism for the past several months, with many attempts to quit or cut back. I’m currently 70 hours sober, and I’m trying to use alcohol-free sparkling water and Street Fighter to establish new habits. I suck at fighting games, but I’ve been wanting to pick up a new hobby and the newest game in the series is pretty fun.
I actually had a friend tell me this once, in 2017 after Charlottesville. When I called those guys Nazis, he said, “You’re minimizing what the Jewish people went through during the Holocaust. If they’re not a member of the NSDAP, they’re not Nazis.”
I hope this isn’t a dumb question, but if the mortality rate of this flu is so aggressive, could it end up burning out before it spreads too widely?
This is the only good selfie I’ve taken in awhile.
This is tangentially related, but Bevins shared some info about DPRK’s initial political system after WWII that conflicted with what the Blowback guys reported. In The Jakarta Method, he mentioned that the Soviets had a heavy hand in influencing the political structure in the North, which also included violence and imprisonment. However, Noah and Brendan said that the Soviets were very hands off while the Koreans organized their political committees, and that stories of Soviet influence were very overblown. Is it possible to know on which side the truth lies?
Glad her surgery was successful! Hopefully she’ll be feeling better soon.
Ok I pull up
Thank you! I dealt with some pretty bad insomnia for the first 3 days. But with the help of melatonin and adjusting my nightly routine, it’s gotten easier. One thing that I haven’t gotten used to yet is how vivid and frequent my dreams are, now. Idk if you’ve experienced that when cutting out drinking, but it’s pretty wild.
