The problem is those of us who want a better life for all. For people to be able to live and not just exist, who strive for kindness. Our problem is always that we are too willing to turn our collective cheek. We are too willing to be kind for too long, be too tolerant, too understanding. Meanwhile, the angry and intolerable, and the malicious and evil, stand high atop shaky foundations yelling loudly serious threats.
This election cycle is a representation of where our own anger has gone. I just fear it has come too late.
It’s still a choice that we should strive to utilize. Not doing so may mean not having that choice, or the illusion of one. I do agree though, it’s about time we shifted things back towards a better life for everyone.
That requires carrying this energy past the election cycle, regardless of the differences we may have on opinion, and coming together in agreement.
Historically, the Left has been rather poor at banding together. We’re more likely to argue than get things done most of the time. So it’ll be an uphill battle for leaders of smaller groups across the Nation. First though, we need to make it past this hurdle.
I cast my vote based wholly on what will do the least harm. Because this world is not black and white, I must consider the impact of an individual who has openly promised to harm as many people as possible if they don’t bow down. Live on high atop your knightly steed, oh great one, and look down through your poorly prescribed glasses and rejoice, for in your world there must be only one right choice.
In reality, neither choice is favorable, just better, and that isn’t fun for any of us.
You, and people like you, really need to open a history book. Make sure to cross reference with past foreign relations strategies.
Unless it’s Dark Souls 2 wherein you mash a couple buttons after being knocked down or rolling and manage to queue up your binoculars perfectly. This, in turn, allows you to get a really splendid look at your enemy’s grimacing face as he shoves a rather vicious and often seriously pointy metal object up your ass. All the while you’re frantically trying to roll away and accidentally toss back a flask. This manages to save you from an untimely demise until you notice that you backed up a little too much and that dude waiting to ambush took one last drag from his cigarette, flicked it away, and proceeded to club your head like he was Babe Ruth after a particularly hearty breakfast.
Then on the way back to your souls some asshole named “Forsworn” gets in your way. God only knows what his problem is.
Spirit of friendship? Bitch, ya’ll threaten to secede every other year.
I think what you mean is attention. He would still have had praise, and less verbal mockery, had he kept up the other route. Instead we got a third rate villain who would be easily demasked without Fred and Velma.
Which, btw, he’s an idiot for not just staying quiet and letting people praise him. Imagine for a moment he took the ridiculous wealth he has and kept quietly pointing it at things that help everyone. He would have been beloved and had more influence than he does now. All of it probably costing him less. Alongside many other reasons, this fucking dumb as shit shift he made makes me want to crush him and Trump even more.
Cause like wtf, Musk? You had a clear and easy path to all the power and prestige and recognition you could have ever wanted by helping the world. Instead, you turned into an asshole.
What really gets me is I’ve had people on the Right tell me about the illegal immigrant problem and about how they do all these crimes. Then when I trap them with the obvious, “Trump is felon though” argument I always get, “Oh he’s different.” alongside the usual conspiracy theories. These are just the bad actors.
So thinking about it, what’s even worse are the people who are supporting Trump as reactionary supporters. All they know is they’re angry and the Democrats are the ones who always talk about change. So time to vote for not them for reasons they can never explain.
What probably happened is Corporate overlords leadership opted for an easier-to-create game direction while also attempting to diversify the game’s base. Basically, and I may be eating my words as we learn more about the game, I’d expect them to have reduced the cost to create while also attempting to increase profit.
I base this off of other games which have attempted similar feats, and I’m not sure of a single one that was part of a larger series that has turned out well.
Unless there is some clause talking about time to receive or “only the participant”, then I would sell this thing at a fraction of the price and frolic into the sunset. Let someone else deal with the logistics, I just made an easy Mil.
If this man kept his word he’d have moved to Russia years ago.
Fire Department Chronicles pretty much underlines exactly this. Emergency situations caused by some level of stupidity. Often no communication, bad supervision or training, some stunt, or just extremely poor judgement leading up to whatever happened that caused the call in the first place.
I can back this, though not for a heart attack. I was foolish and never went in, twice.
My body typically runs a degree below what most of us know as the average human body temperature, though this is disputed. Some time ago I got sick. Not like sniffles and some aches, what I got brought my body into fill siege mode for a week. My temps were fluctuating from 102 into mid-104 if I made the mistake of staying covered up for too long, or sometimes just cause. I struggled to eat due to almost no appetite, though I did eat what little I could put down, and slept on-off constantly, mostly dozed. When I was awake it was constant discomfort. Just me being a human torch and downing as much fluids as I could, with a careful mixture of otc drugs. I lost 17lbs that week. Many of you are aware of how dumb I was to not bring myself to a hospital. For those of you who do not understand: My body was in a state of absolute war. Me creeping into 104° was dangerous on a level that’s difficult to grasp, especially if it stays there, god forbid if it goes up another degree. Plainly put: I got lucky. I have no idea what I had caught.
The other situation was a stomach issue caused, I’m convinced, by my body reacting very poorly to pineapple enzymes. Considering I am rather strongly physically adverse to going near pineapple now I’m sort of assuming my body knows what’s up. Anyway, I spent 4 days in and out of the bathroom, often nauseous, with commonly nothing to show for it. No matter what I did my body refused to process something. It’s like those moments where you forget how to breathe, except my stomach forgot how to process. Tums, Peptol, toast, time, heat, cold, showers, light exercise, nothing moved whatever lever some goblin pulled to cause my body to just say no regarding processing through whatever I was dealing with.
Now neither of these situations are heart attacks. Point is, they don’t have to be. Our bodies are remarkably resilient and modern medicine understands this. We have developed advanced medical techniques that, with few exceptions, exist largely to give our bodies time to figure shit out. So just go. Even if it’s no more than a quick consultation and $100 for someone to say “You’re probably not going to die.” cause fuck me if it wouldn’t have helped me in both these situations.
Yeah but like the net benefit is I don’t want to give up my spot on this suffocating existence for a few minutes.
It needs to be simplified. You’d be rather shocked at how many people can’t read the vast majority of standard graphs.
Woah now, it’s SO much easier to make a dig at anything when you refuse to challenge your own, and your friend/family’s, personal views.
If we have authentic elections in 2 and 4 years the DNC needs to do something extremely simple:
Step up and attack on issues their base wants. This is literally the only thing they’d need to do, as evidenced by the support Trump has received. They can go a step further by acting on, even unsuccessfully, promises they make during any election cycle. This is the same strategy Republicans have been using, just in a radically different fashion. Think of it as same tree, different branch.
If I was given power to reform the DNC I would:
Shift the older generation of political elites into advisory roles.
Hold Nationwide polling and pull representatives from anywhere who show promise, with progressive ideologies AND vocal stances.
Listen to and support popular grassroot movements
Create rotating leadership roles within the organization with a focus on calculated risk taking and economics under an umbrella of simplifying the relationships between forward-looking policies and the struggle of the average American. Then follow-thru by supporting relevant policies at local and State level.
This is simple leadership on a national scale and would work. The initial effort would be tremendous, though after a time it would begin to run itself as leaders in various districts take up mantles and push for the needs of any voter within their district(s).
Alas, this is likely to forever remain hypothetical.
