It looks like you can still use it strictly for modem duties and use your existing router. That’s what I do (albeit with AT&T fiber), and the only downsides are you have to port forward on both the “modem”/C5500XK and your router, and things like dynamic DNS is potentially more complicated to setup.

I really hope they release a wireless Linux based VR headset, which can reliably stream VR games from a beefier computer similar to a quest 2. As far as I know that’s what the rumors are pointing towards with the “Valve Deckard”. A reliable wireless headset that is not Meta/Facebook would be an instant buy for me, especially if it fully supports Linux.

I might have to test this on my gaming laptop. I tried the last release before this, but it locked up constantly, especially if I tried to run any games.

OpenSUSE has been significantly more stable, but I can only get it to fully boot when I have hybrid graphics disabled entirely. Booting in hybrid mode just yields a black screen and a mouse cursor.
