  • It’s stupid only because they try to rationalize it.

Comics Thanos just wants to commit genocide so his crush notices him. That’s also stupid, but he’s a big purple space alien so what can you expect? Using a magic space glove powered by stardust and wishfish to kill half of all life as an incredible gesture of his devotion to Death makes internal sense.

  • You’re starting from a flawed assumption. It’s more like “Oh boy, the DNC made the decision to ditch Biden and run someone slightly progressive, how exciting,” to “Why hasn’t she called it a genocide, is she going to be any different on Israel than Biden,” to “Why do they keep insisting the economy is fine directly to the face of people who are currently suffering,” to “Why did we even bother ditching Joe Biden if Harris isn’t going to make any changes from him,” until finally “Liz fucking Cheney? Seriously? Fine, just tell me to fuck off before you take my $20 next time.”

I think a lot of people were very invigorated to vote for the Harris/Walz ticket when it was first announced, and then little by little that energy was whittled away.

  • It’s one of those things where scientists discovered something interesting and novel, and then a bunch of dumb grifters came in to try and make it their new snake oil.

A very, very long time ago, back when Bitcoin was viewed as a currency instead of an “investment” platform, Bitcoin kinda fulfilled the ideal use case for the blockchain. I think now the general public is just too soured on them for that to ever be the case, unless Elon makes Bitcoin the new currency of the U.S…

  • This is a hard one because I generally try to play good games these days, and good games either get popularized through word of mouth or Youtubers make video essays about how they were misunderstood at the time. For me, this question is really asking “Hey what weird trash did you find back when you were 10 years old digging through the bargain bin for whatever you could trade two games you finished for.”

I think my big picks from the weird trash are The Urbz, which comes from back when they made Sims spinoff games instead of endless DLC, and Ty the Tasmanian Devil, which was a 3D platformer metroidvania that revolved around collecting increasingly elaborate boom-a-rangs. I definitely sunk the most hours into the Urbz, because nothing was more fun to a 10 year old than going around a virtual town flipping people off.
