My favorite feature is how currying is applied literally everywhere. You can take any function that accepts 2 args, pass in a single arg and return a new function that accepts one arg and produces the result. In Haskell, this is handled automatically. Once you wrap your head around using partially applied and fully saturated functions you can really start to see the power behind languages like Haskell
I’ve been learning Haskell, and now I won’t shut up about Haskell
Piranesi??
Okay clearly weezer is not post rock, but there is an overwhelming presence of the genre in this list.
I also love Radiohead, weezer, BCNR, Swans and joy division… soooo
Damn, Post-Rock is in shambles
Never seen this before. It’s incredible!
To each their own, but I am having fun. I definitely understand more about them than I have before now
Just picked it up for myself after bouncing off fighting games my entire life and this one finally feels like it bridges that gap of being incredibly accessible for absolute trash while maintaining an incredibly impenetrable upper echelon of performance. And it just looks so incredible
The volume of cars is a scale factor that determines the impact of traffic causing behaviors and conditions for free flowing highways (no traffic lights, stop signs, etc.). Following too closely and improper lane changing are two specific behaviors that actually create slow downs. There are numerous models that simulate this.
I came here to point this out and love the way you stated it. Confusion, hesitation and unnecessary lane changes are what create traffic. There has never been a major highway development in history that didn’t cause at least some short term issues. We should give city planners a bit more credit than that
Energy weapons help a lot, you just have to keep applying pressure on him to quickly break the shield. The trick with the missiles is to dodge forward when the missiles are closing in at you at around a 45 degree angle. That way you get behind them without them having enough space to turn around be hind you.
You’ve probably beat him by now but double shot gun double grenade launcher. Stay very close to him in phase one and fire all your weapons at once. At close range you will almost guarantee a stagger. Follow up with another shot then wait for your weapons to be fully reloaded and do it again.
Using this strat you can enter phase 2 with 20-40% of his hp left. Then just clean up the rest
Great movie. But I think this movie shows both sides of the coin with Jon. Dialog heavy scenes where Jon gets a chance to be level headed and really deliver his lines with potency always work in his favor. Like the cafe scene with Baby and the female lead is outstanding from his part. But practically every scene of him just being the “villain” feel off to me. It might just be that my expectations of him onscreen are too high after Mad Men. I don’t blame Jon at all though, he clearly works incredibly hard in his career. I just feel like the roles he’s played have not given him much of a chance to shine. Like give the guy another leading role for christsakes.
Two I haven’t seen yet!
It’s not wrong, I love Hamm for his work in Mad Men but I’ve yet to see him in anything else where he didn’t feel extremely out of place.
Been a huge fan of this band for years now. First time seeing them posted on any platform like this. Vomit, Grass Stains, Circling the Drain, lighterless, Dull, Wrong, Float to the Top, are just some among countless absolute bangers from this band.
Anyone getting into Eno probably already knows this, but Music for Airports is right up there with Aphex Twins Selected Ambient Works for its influence on ambient music going forward
Also the name of one of the best sci fi novels ever written, which has references to the phenomenon
