I think there’s truth to this. The Democratic party has to engage with people in good faith and learn what it’s important for them and why they voted the way they did.

Yes, it’s true that this election was about democracy vs fascism, but the election result tells us that it’s possible to see the election from other angles where it’s about other things. I think the Democratic party has to view the election from those angles, see what those things are, and take that to heart.

Absolutely. And nobody seems able to stop the trend. We’re in dire need of some good thinking right now.

When the initial disbelief wears off a little it becomes more clear that the democrats are not a very good alternative for people. If they were they should have won this by a landslide. Their current path seems like a dead end and they need some new thoughts.

It is surreal, in a bad way, to watch as the US might actually vote to put itself in mortal danger.

I’d change “a” to “someone” for better grammar: “America really can’t afford someone competent in the White House right now 😂”. That’s what they meant, right?

Yes, the US has to fix the election system, making it possible to vote on other options that the duopoly without effectively voting against the lesser of two evils. And that won’t happen with a fascist in charge.
