  • One of the security upsides to plex is that any number of people can log in with the same credential.

    That means that while Plex can harvest information- what account, what’s being watched, IP address, device and player identifier- It doesn’t know who to attach that information to. So you can get dozens or maybe hundreds of users polluting the same account with watch information. Less useful information to be sure.









  • If I was the vendor, I’d stock the whole thing with Cheetos and then snip the cord myself. Fuck that guy.

    As an aside, this appears to be a Canadian vending machine (Miss Vickies, Lays flavours made in Canada, Canadian chocolate bars), so the Cheeto switch may have been political.

    So to this guy- Get used to superior Hawkins Cheezies, and elbows up.




  • A non capitalist option is to simply use the very large amount of resources available to take care of the old folks. It’s not profitable, but that’s not the point.

    Oh, the capitalists have very much figured out how to cash in on old folks. It’s incredibly lucrative. I can’t imagine them abandoning that gravy train until they’ve siphoned off all that filthy lucre that’s settled out in the aging class.






  • I have the world’s best caesar dressing. People remark on it all the time. It is also the dressing for the world class steakhouse Caesar’s. Here it is:

    • equal parts olive oil and grated parm. For a typical meal, it’s 1/3 cup of each. This is sufficient for a large head of romaine.
    • 1 egg
    • 1Tsp lemon juice (fresh squeezed)
    • 1/2 tsp fish sauce or squirt of anchovy paste
    • 1/4 tsp seasoning salt
    • grind of black pepper
    • 8-10 drops hot sauce like Franks
    • 8-10 drops Worcestershire sauce
    • 1tsp white vinegar
    • 2 cloves garlic minced

    I blend and taste at this point, ensuring that there is a proper balance of umami, sour, and salt. Zhuzh it up accordingly with additional hot sauce, Worcestershire or lemon juice to taste. A sprinkle of MSG is magic for an umami bomb like this as well.

    no thyme, water, xanthan gum. You can use a squirt of dijon as an emulsifier if and only if your gut biome is too much of a pussy to handle the raw egg in your dressing. I’ve made and ate this hundreds of times without incident.
