This is a case of knowing your audience. This article was written by a furry and I got about zero idea what the hell they’re talking about.
He’s a Steve!
I understood all the lingo except Steve. I don’t know that one.
Edit: Apparently it’s another name for non-furries.
Fleshies / Smoothies: Outsiders to the fandom. Furries often make fun of them as “Steve” or “Steves”.
This is the kind of quality education I come to this place for.
I’ve never heard that term. Most furries I know use the more universal “normie”.
I love that nickname. It’s both gentle and brutal, and must make every furry named Steve feel so awkward.
I’m willing to bet it has to do with the default Minecraft skin.
That makes sense. I assumed it was because it’s a name you just know someone’s parents gave them.
Steve is the default name for any otter.
What’s your opinion on this @notsteve_
Same here! It was all just words with no meaning for me but I’m glad those crazy kids are having fun. You do you Furry Fandom… Furdom… Furrydom??? Idk someone’s going to have to enlighten me on this one.
Finally, an onion article that is pretty easy to determine it was written by the Onion.
The world has gone so much to shite that this isn’t a given anymore.
I had to check to see if it was The Onoin.
It’s always a mindfuck when I think it is an article from TheOnion but then I read NotTheOnion.
I’m curious about the furry demographic. Are there many conservative furries? Furries for Trump?
not many, but they exist.
the only furcon that took a political stance was free fur all, a furcon that boasts having free speech.
its attendance was quite small. Some furry youtubers that make videos on furry drama sorta poked fun at the con and the people attending for the first year, but that fizzled out by the second year and is likely to be less covered as time goes on.
