I rememberfew times when lemmy libs posted some cases when Russian missile caused civilian casualties, i in reply proven to them it’s nearly a daily reality for Donbas where AFU expend scarce and precious weapons to make purely and openly terror strikes on bus stops, markets, shops etc. Nobody even responded and i was always downvoted to hell, with some of them even following me for weeks later to downvote every single post i made on that account.

They think they are this stupid. This “no u” thing is just them trying to reinforce their goodies vs baddies worldview. They say this not to convince you, but to convince themselves. Reality is anathema to liberals and they must destroy it whenever they encounter it.
Honestly, that probably explains 9/10ths of the liberal mindset.
Approaching their arguments from a position of “I’m only saying this to protect my ego/worldview” has a lot more success than actually treating their arguments as actual ideas they think are factual. Similar to dealing with conspiracy theorists. They believe things that make them feel good, not things that are factual (and unpleasant). And on some level they assume everyone else does the same, which is why we are either evil monsters for “supporting Putin” or whatever unsubstantiated accusation they want to hurl at us, or we are simply lying and believe the same feel good things they do, and are just being jerks and trolls to trick them.
Could just be an ignoramus who straight up doesn’t have the slightest idea what’s been happening and just spews bs for the sake of having the last word

I forget what the exact phrase is that the Russian media was using to refer to the eight years long siege of Donbas by the Kiev regime, but that phrase showed up on Wikipedia to be played off as a conspiracy theory.

That Wikipedia article gives me nightmares. Such a horrible thing to create to justify the war and attempt to remove any context and label it “conspiracy.”
Maybe the most asinine bit is the link to a page on the Soviet era slogan “and you are lynching Negroes,” which waxes poetic about how this phrase is a textbook example of whataboutism without presenting a single example, even conceptually, of what sort of thing the Soviets may be deflecting away from.
