I read recent articles from NEO and others:

And they paint a very worrying picture. It seems the imperialists are unwilling to allow Russia to “win” - what they mean exactly by this; I’m not sure. Will they be pacified if Ukraine accepts a deal with the current lines as new borders? If not, it seems the only way they can realistically continue this is by using their own troops; which Putin will most likely see as an act of war and has said that he will be forced to use nuclear weapons. I don’t know what will happen. The imperialists won’t want to settle with Russia, because it will prove that NATO is a paper tiger and might lead to its dissolution as other member states pull out (but maybe this won’t happen, several states have applied for membership recently). But surely they will not risk nuclear confrontation? Or do we get to the point where they keep pushing with incrementally more warmongering actions like sending advisors, weapons, “limited number” of troops, until Russia actually pushes the button? Then we get a scene with Putin negotiating with Biden on the phone to disarm the nuke in-flight? (there was a film about that right?)

based on past record, yeah, they’ll set themselves on fire to keep the US warm.

but i simply do not understand what they imagine they’re doing, so i cant really guess what they’ll do next

I think it’s simple really- all the Euro politicians think that, worst comes to worst- even if their countries collapse into anarchy, or become irradiated wastelands, they’ll have a luxurious life awaiting them in the US if need be. IMO, there is little to no difference between much of the present stock of European leaders, and figures such as the Jordanian royal family, the Marcos family, the historical South Vietnamese government, and countless other cases of wholly compromised, comprador leaders the west has imposed on the global south. The era of independent-minded figures like Charles de Gaulle (rest in piss) or Churchill (also rest in piss) is long over.

FWIW- IMO much the same can be said of the US and Anglosphere’s political elites- one way or another they all plan to live out their comfortable lives, if not in the US, in Switzerland, or some islands in the Caribbean, or New Zealand, etc. I would describe what we are dealing with as a truly post-nationalist liberal order- these people care about nothing other than their own wallets and act accordingly.

I think if there’s a risk of anyone pushing any buttons it’s going to be the US. They’re finished and they won’t go down easily.

Is there a material risk of EU countries deploying troops/conscripting? Basically I am worried about being conscripted, and also my ability to leave Europe in a few years
