Disappointing to have drawn after dominating pretty much the entire match. But credit to the lads for going until the final minute despite conceeding 2 goals.
Also, I really don’t understand why time was called without checking the penalty? Unless VAR called it straight away. Feels like we were robbed there of potentially winning this leg.
By being so emphatic about the penalty, the ref prevented VAR from intervening - play continued and there was no way they were going to roll it back after that.
I’m glad that both conceded goals were stupid mistakes, but I hope they’re out of our system now.
I haven’t heard about that, but the rules do say that VAR will check “at the next stoppage of play”. I guess full time counts as a stoppage… and when the laws were first written, they didn’t anticipate VAR

Isn’t there precedent for VAR to call play back for a pen even after the final whistle. I swear I remember it happening in a man united match
