Theme

Try to recreate a classic exploitable meme using AI!

I’m gonna switch up the scoring a little for this challenge, so be sure to read the score section:

  • Most ambitious: the most complex meme or the meme that I (a layman) feels would be very difficult to describe via prompt.
  • Most recognizable: the meme is the easiest to identify, and is the most accurate to the original
  • Do not include the name of the meme in the prompt: the challenge is to find a novel way to recreate the meme, not just get the model to spit out an image it was trained on. You can use words that are in the name of the meme, but avoid telling the model to just make the meme.

Rules

  • Follow the community’s rules above all else
  • One comment and image per user
  • Embed image directly in the post (no external link)
  • Workflow/Prompt sharing encouraged (we’re all here for fun and learning)
  • Posts that are tied will both get the points
  • The challenge runs for 7 days from now on
  • Down votes will not be counted

Scores

At the end of the challenge each post will be scored:

Prize Points
Most upvoted +3 points
Second most upvoted +2 point
Third most upvoted +1 point
OP’s favorite +1 point
Most ambitious +1 point
Most recognizable meme +1 point
Last two entries (to compensate for less time to vote) +1 point
Prompt and workflow included +1 point
Prompt includes the name of the meme -1 point

The winner gets to pick next theme! As always, have fun everyone! Previous entries

Oh no! Putting the name of the meme in your prompt is -1 point! Ya gotta read the scoring rules!

      But also lol topical

Just to be sure… That’s not how it shows up on your Lemmy client, right? This was a joke? 😅

This is my first time using table markdown, and I just copied it since my client doesn’t support it in the text input field so I’m hoping I didn’t screw something up. It looks ok in my client, but idk about other clients.

            No, I disregarded your scoring.

Prompt sharing is still fairly rare so it deserves more than 1 point.

I honestly didn’t read the last rule because everything else looked nearly the same. I could have used the prompt “pikachu looking surprised” and probably get the same results. Anyway, I am just here for fun. Cheers!

I mentioned to read the score section because I changed it, but maybe I’ll edit the post to specifically mention them in the theme section and explain them.

Sorry I didn’t make it clear enough 😭

        im ignoring that rule. :)

Can make more relevant memes when allowing the ai to reference the original and minefields are bad. My prompt will always include whatever words I want to create the picture I desire.

I will personally give a thumbs up to everyone who includes a reference to their target meme in their prompt to at least offset that ‘picturemessupping’ rule a little.

Prompt: close-up of A dog wearing a hat, sitting on a stool at a table, in a room on fire, a text balloon with the words “This is fine” is coming out of it’s mouth --ar 4:3 --sref https://s.mj.run/cNPXXp4iMm8 --cref https://s.mj.run/cNPXXp4iMm8 --stylize 200

I see that @[email protected] had the same idea. This is just by coincidence, I promise.
I spend hours going through all kinds of memes (try making a believable realistic nyan cat, all I got was cats surfing on toast). I finally managed to make something I was happy with, only to find out someone beat me to the punch. Anyway, may the best dog on fire win :)

      This turned out quite well!
Why did you make him so old?!? 🤣 Although it is still quite recognizable so you’re still in the running for most recognizable.

I don’t know. I like to put a disquieting twist on my AI images. I was trying to make him scary/diseased at first much like Patrick below, but the filters were giving me grief. I like the aged twist though since it’s an ‘old’ meme.

Not a very recognizable meme, so I hope you guys at least find out what it is.

Prompt: “A human norse male wearing an iron helmet stands in a stone and wood city, lookong towards the camera. The helmet fully covers his face and its shadow hides his eyes. A yellowish cloth wraps his neck and covers his sholder.”

So close, yet so far! I was never able to generate the opposite arm for a real arm wrestle handshake.

My prompt : a close-up picture of 2 muscular men arm wrestling in the air, standing one on front of the other. We only see their arms, the left one is a black male wearing grey t-shirt using his right hand, the right one is a white male wearing red t-shirt, using his right hand. We see only the arms.

Hmmm… Looking at the code, the only cause I can think of is the larger amount of dashes on the second line. Other than that it looks like valid markdown. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t parse very well in your apps? They look OK in Voyager and Thunder.

Anyway, I’ll see if I can keep this in mind for next week’s tally by adding an easier to read (and edit) alternative.

I’m not actually familiar with this markdown, so idk where even to find the spec. Let alone the official markdown for Lemmy or specific clients 😭
Why couldn’t it just be CSV 😭lol

Probably happened because I tried to get cute and make all the cells line up if the raw markdown was viewed (without word wrap) and I put a typo in somewhere

That’s ok, I don’t think anyone could have foreseen this :)
And don’t worry about making the cells line up, no one will ever get to see it unless they look at the source.

In the future, there are plenty of online tools to quickly convert something like CSV to Markdown. I found this one with a simple search:

                https://tableconvert.com/csv-to-markdown

The irony was that I want sure if this markdown was supported in all clients which is why I tried to make the cells line up; so it’d fall back to something resembling a table.
(Well, that and it was easier to make sure I was editing the right column)

I think I’ll just use such a tool in the future. I wonder if libre office or open office can export directly to it

Hmmm it should look like this (copied the formatting from theIsim’s post, but it’s hard to find out what the official markdown is, and what clients support what markdown)
