And even further, only those exact same two seats are ‘taken’ for every single showing.

I thought for sure the after church showings tomorrow would be at least somewhat full, but nope.

That’s not showing in my blue city, but another movie “Am I Racist?” is showing (or not? Maybe they don’t hit play if the theater is empty).

It seems to be about a racist guy who takes on a disguise so nobody recognizes him as the racist guy and pretends to be a mentally ill progressive or something and interviews people

My guess might be that much of the audience buys a ticket when they show up. I know that’s probably what I would do. Especially if I saw ahead of time that I can choose any seat.

I think you still have to buy a specific seat if you buy at the theater otherwise it would break the system if anyone did buy an assigned seat after you.

I just checked the 9pm showing and it’s still showing an empty theater 3 min before start.

Our town only has two theaters and only this one has assigned seats. It’s only showing this, that Reagan movie and Beetlejuice. I couldn’t find any seats that had been sold…

However my wife and I went to see Deadpool a week or two ago and the theater was as full as I’ve seen a theater since Covid.

Not sure what my point is?

          But, ‘Yes!’ Also ‘No!’…

          In conclusion, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For some comparison, wife and I went to a Tuesday noonish showing of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and there were more than 8 people. So, at a time slot that would be totally understandable to have 1-2 people at a showing, there were way more than for this waste of digital space.

With this movie, Am I Racist?, and Reagan all playing at the same time, the GOP is really going full-throttle in attempting to exploit their base.

    To be clear:
    The ‘x’ seats are ‘taken’
    The 🟦 seats are ‘available’

ETA As many have pointed out, since these same two seats are blocked for every showing, I believe it’s because they’re broken; not sold.

It kind of makes sense. People who love Trump don’t exactly have the patience to watch a documentary to begin with.

Why watch a movie, when you could get a random screed from the source himself at 3AM, which you can read in about 30sec?

I got curious. This showing is in about 90 minutes, in one of the reddest counties in the country.

There is another show tonight that has about 10 tickets sold.

One of the reddest places in a major Texas metropolis, on a Saturday evening, an hour before the showing:

Every theater has about 2 seats blocked off because they squeak too much and have been complained about. I’m blown away at the amount of religious content at theaters. There is tons. Some of it is basically like going to evangelical church. They’re not movies they’re sermons in theaters.

This one is made by a D’Souza, the same name behind that movie about ballot boxes being stuffed in 2020. It’s nonsense.

I’m sure you and everyone else understand, attendance isn’t proof of anything beyond box office numbers. Many theaters are empty that’s how they know to show something new.

Apparently it is set in the same cinematic universe as Surviving R. Kelly.

Ugh, Westminster, CO. Most showings in the Denver area are at least half full. But most theaters aren’t showing it at all.
