Younger and lower-income workers are among the least satisfied with their jobs; majorities say it would be hard to find the kind of job they’d want if they were looking today
If the US federal gov workers get pushed out, I wonder what the implications will be on people? Thats the most “secure” job in the US by some standards.
I know the unions are already prepping and fed government shut downs are imminent.
All non profit jobs are on the cutting block. All Government jobs are as well. That’s ~40% of the labor force.
Arts orgs were devastated by the pandemic and have not made it back yet largely to prepandemic attendance/membership/etc. lots of non-profits are dependent on government grants and programs which may have ended or been reduced after funding that kept them afloat during the pandemic. Other than that what non-profit areas are you seeing cutting in?
Any non profit working in humanitarian aid has already been target for heavy fines or forced to sale assets to a for profit company; simply for boycotting Isreal. Definitely will be used for non profits that are critical of Trump or those that help women get medical care.
I definitely qualify here. My job will not survive without me, every level of managment and customers, fellow employees, etc acknowledges that. I put in my two weeks a couple days ago citing low wages and several documented promises of pay increases that were never realised. Instead of offering me any pay raise at all, the higher ups basically said that they are willing to let the buisness fail before they give me a pay raise. Id like to have a FAFO moment but… they seem like they are actually willing to lose 5000/d to avoid giving me a dollar more. And its definitely not a case of them not being able to afford it, new hires make more than I do despite my 4 years of training. The other day I was informed that I am literally the only one currently employed here that knows how to open the buisness.
I don’t feel good about either. Haven’t for a couple years.
I’m one of the ones happy with my pay but stressed about my job security.
Opposite here.
