For a guy like ETH known for a high pressing and possession based football, why spending all that money on a slow midfield destroyer that weak in moving the ball fast and controlling the tempo of a game. It obviously obliged ETH to adapt and the only way is changing your style of play
Casemiro signing makes sense when you have Kroos and Modric like midfielders to compliment him. Even that did not work out most of the time in the last few years.
Even pushing out De Gea was bad transfer. Could def haggle decent wage for 1-2 years and invested that 40-50mil into onfield player that was much bigger issue than the golden glove winner.
