  • No, they have the capacity to take illegal and violent actions without consequence because the administration is ensuring the rule of the law isn’t applied against their shadow agents. That’s the actual reality. It’s actually only a matter of time before someone rightly shoots an unmarked and undeclared ICE agent to death, which is exactly the ‘escalation’ the tRump admin is planning for. Not sure what the Republican heads are expecting the left-leaning voters to do once violence is openly on the table and there is no other recourse to address this massive over-reach. Good luck down there, y’all seem pretty fucked.

  • Everything preceeding the word ‘but’ is bullshit, every time. Let’s be real, you’re all for mass deportation of visible minorities, you don’t care if they were born in this country or how much their family has contributed to its growth. You won’t acknowledge that every one of us who isn’t a born indigenous Canadian, had to migrate here and be given a chance to improve the country, which we did, every time. Now you want to pull up that ladder and assert that because they’re not the same colour or culture as you are they should suffer and probably die actually. Some believe you should be deported for not being of Canadian spirit, and so will the regime you’re dreaming about after they shove all the Canadians YOU don’t like out. Time will come that you won’t be loyal or Canadian enough for them, and you’ll be sent to a camp or deported to CECOT, and be asking yourself ‘how could this happen to me?’, and you’ll know… This is what I asked for.

If you are self-aware and you’re actually telling on yourself saying “yes, I want what they have, which is our own military terrorizing Canadians”, then sincerely, get fucked, you don’t belong here.

  • Ah shit man, you eventually kinda get used to it. Life’s really about enjoying and experiencing the moment you’re in as best you can, as often as you can, as long as you’re able. If you can manage that, you’ll at least know you have savored those smudges in the rear-view. A piece of advice is to make sure you have devices to record and hold on to as much as you can, back things up always! Don’t be afraid/surprised if going back and seeing something you though you had lost completely in those records makes you feel strongly emotional.

  • I think you misspellt “the paid opposition” which is really all anyone can justifiably call the Democrats given their recent behaviour and decisions, and there’s no sign of learning or changing tactics cause they’re paid no to by the same investors that paid the other fucking side. Capital is the enemy here, it has no allegiance but to itself, and it has wrestled the political body away from the voting public, due in no small part to class turncoats in government lobbying in the open. There is no room for partisans if any remnant of America as we know it is to be saved, anyone picking sides has chosen the wrong one already, there’s only the side of the people.

Honestly, you’re better off. Your current method ensures you get what you want, which you know from the start. Browsing on netflix always ends in choice paralysis for me, the longer I browse the less sure I am what I want to see, and eventually I just get exhausted or annoyed and move on to other things. Now, that’s me, and you are not me, but we are both people and as a people I suspect this shit happen to most of us. Smooth sailing, ye scallywag!

  • Hey fellow 41 year old dude, I also cry at this stuff. It seems especially pronounced when rewatching nostalgic productions with well written characters and conflict (I will not apologize for crying all the time during Avatar the last Airbender, as an adult man). No, I do not know what this means in regard to healthy emotional processing, it just is what it is. Mind you I also get unjustifiably angry or emotional in other contexts when I feel connected to the fate of a character and they experience injustice. So this might be a general marker for some level of empathy or maybe just emotional mimicry. Thanks for posting, I think this is something people should be okay talking about more.

Edit: I wanted to add this also occurs in other mediums, like video games. Cyberpunk 2077 was like a revolution in awareness for me, but largely because I experience DID to a degree in my life, and it really flipped the table of my understanding of myself seeing what I experience through the eyes of others.
