So I went ice skating yesterday and it has left me pretty sore today. I figured it was a good workout that you could do every once in a while to spice things up.
I also do futsal sometimes with friends and I’n considering swimming as well.
What things do you do that are physically demanding yet not necessarily a workout?
Oooh, swimming is rly cool for this. When going swimming with your friends it’s easy to alternate between playing or whatever and swimming with proper form for as long as possible. It may not be a replacement for a complete workout, but I like to use it as a substitute for triceps and lat workout for instance. Apart from that, I think it’s good for like lung capacity and it’s also healthy for ur joints. Other watersports concerning: I did some Kajaking last summer and I gotta tell you, ur arms are gonna be sore af from that. Only bummer is, ur legs are left out completely there.
Apart from that, I personally think running in itself is fun. But thinking of actually fun ways to run, then Football, Baseball or Parkour come to mind. Since I know a person that hates running, but loves cycling, ig cycling is a good substitute for running.
Presently, I prefer to just do weight lifting. Since I’m still a student, i also get to do other sports easily, as that is a mandatory subject. Once i’m finished with school tho I imagine I’ll stick with weight lifting. Tho I’m itching to try out MMA as well. Jiujitsu is another sport u may wanna try out. I did it for a few years and it’s a very social sport where ure bound to meet new ppl.
Hope this helped OwO

Guys in the gym: what’s the problem here?

If you got a kayak with a pair of waders in the bottom, you could walk/run over the shallow bits.
I mean, ice skating IS working out! It just doesnt feel like one because its fun lol. We never used to have to “work out”, we would just walk, run, jump, climb, row, push, all day long so we didn’t need to see it that way.
I love riding my bike and playing tennis is really fun. I’ll piss my partner off because I don’t care so much about being good, I just love running all over the court lol. Plus with that you do a lot of lateral movement thay I dont think we do often in our every day lives. Bouldering is also really fun, kayaking/swimming too. Also just going on walks and hiking
Marching band
I know it doesn’t sound very athletic but have you TRIED playing a polka with three flats on the saxophone while also paying attention that you always put down your left foot on the 1, coordinate your sound with the trombonist next to you, and simultaneously trying to keep formation walking around the contorted corridors of a medieval timberframe town?
(It’s also addictive af)
Dance by itself is a great way to get leaner because of the intense cardio involved with it.
I never even thought about dancing, great idea
goto a rave
climbed Mount Cadillac thinking it was going to be a California hike, not an actual mountain
couldn’t walk without wobbly legs for about 2 days afterward
The other day I was hanging out with a friend and played racket ball for the first time. I don’t do sports, but that was a blast.
I also used to figure skate quite a lot when I was younger, I had a coach and did some light competition, but it was never super serious. Unfortunately that caps out in age pretty fast, so I am well past that these days.
I also did hapkido when I was younger, and I still do the hyungs on a regular basis. Probably that would just be considered a workout, but my main reason is just not to forget them.
Canoeing always fucked up my arms if we went fast.
Biking 20 miles.
Hiking 20 miles
I don’t know about fun, but working as a postal worker is also a work out
Climbing/bouldering is really fun; good combination of strength and technique
Does sex count? Otherwise Animal crossing has like a 1minute stretch session daily that I use as a warmup for a longer session. I wish more non-vr video games had wiifit mechanics
There are a bunch of amateur organized sports leagues, you could try picking up ultimate frisbee or soccer or tennis.
